Moving on from the Candelaria, nursing our mosquito bites, we had a long day of travel dealing with Buenos Aires rush hour – not recommended! However arriving into El Calafate was great and the weather was amazing – sunny, warm and not TOO windy (yet!). The Fitzroy range rose before us through the haze, and it is magnificent. Pizza and an early night ready for today’s planned big hike.
A great start to the trip.
After one of the smoothest journeys you can imagine, we arrived at the tranquil Candelaria del Monte, a small estancia outside of Buenos Aires. Lovely welcome and a huge steak for lunch, was followed by a couple of hours rest and then a gentle horse ride around the grounds. Looking forward to a day of doing not very much.
